A well attended and much appreciated Wedsneday meeting of the Royal Meteorological Society "Forecasting UK and European Winters" (click for report, abstracts and some presentations) at the London Zoo on 19 Apr 2006: all this was spurred on by the UK Met Office forecast for winter 2005/06. It has been a great opportunity to take seasonal forecast and related issues (e.g., energy management) to the open air!

Around 170 people attended the Wedsneday meeting of the Royal Meteorological Society "Perfecting imperfect models" (click for report and abstracts) at the London Zoo on 19 Jan 2005: the highest number in a long time (in spite of the fact that the UK Met Office now sits 200 miles away from London!).
